LiquidAccess SUPPORT

WATERSPORTS SAFETY CODE

Watersports are fun and challenging but involve inherent risks of injury or death. To increase your enjoyment of the sport and to reduce your risks, use common sense and follow these guidelines:

  • Familiarize yourself with all applicable federal, state and local laws, the risks inherent in the sport and the proper use of equipment.
  • Know the waterways and always have a person other than the boat driver as an observer.
  • The rider, observer and driver should agree on hand signals.
  • Never start out until the rider signals that they are ready.
  • Always use caution and common sense.

Regarding your equipment and your towrope:

  • Always wear a U.S. Coast Guard Type III (PFD) vest.
  • Inspect all equipment prior to use. Check bindings, fins, and flotation device prior to each use and DO NOT USE if damaged.
  • Tow ropes stretch during use. If a rope breaks or is suddenly released, it can snap back striking boat occupants or the user which could result in injury or death.
  • Inspect rope before use and do not use tow rope if frayed, knotted or damaged. Use proper toe rope for the activity.
  • Ensure rope is free from all body parts prior to starting out or during use.
  • Keep persons and ropes away from propeller when engine is running, even if in neutral. Should rope become entangled in propeller, SHUT OFF ENGINE AND REMOVE IGNITION KEY BEFORE RETRIEVING ROPE. Propellers are very sharp and can cut wet skin easily.

HOW TO TREAT YOUR BOARD

  1. Rinse your board with fresh water after using in salt water.
  2. It is generally better to keep your board and bindings out of the sun for longer periods of time.
  3. Do not use oils or lotions to get in the bindings. These never wash out and make your feet slimy.
  4. It’s not a surfboard or a car…Don’t wax it.
  5. Buy a protective bag for your board, it helps keep it from becoming scratched, protects it from the sun and may protect the boat as well.
  6. Inspect your board for damage every time you ride. Also check the bindings for worn or damaged parts.
  7. Replace excessively worn or damaged parts before riding your board.
  8. Check the fins to make sure they are tight. Fins do not float.
  9. Check the binding retention bolts before each ride to make sure they are tight.
  10. Do not use thread sealants such as Loc-tie® on binding bolts or fin screws. These products can attack some types of plastics causing structural failure.
  11. Gasoline, oils, and most other petroleum products are bad for your board, so do not let your board come in contact with any of these chemicals.

HELPFUL RIDING TIPS

Beginners should hold the handle with both hands, palms down. Put the rope over the toe side edge of the board (the side your toes point to). Try to place your knees to the inside of your elbows. Hold the position. Alert the driver when you are ready. Have the driver give a slow, steady pull out of the water. Stay in the squatted position with your arms straight, resisting the pull of the boat by putting pressure on your feet. Let the boat pull you out. After you start to feel the board plane…stand up. Use your legs for power, leaving your arms straight while keeping your eyes on the boat. You have just made a deep water start.
Caution: these are guidelines only. There is no substitute for professional instruction. Instruction will teach general safety guidelines and proper techniques, thereby reducing your risk of injury. For more information on wakeboarding schools, contact your LiquidAccess dealer, the World Wakeboard Association or local ski club. LiquidAccess does offer instructional videos for beginning and advanced riders. If you cannot find one at your local dealership please contact us at:

I spread the seed.

Where did you grow up?
I haven’t.

When did you first get into wakeboarding/wakeskating?
When there was none.

What is your favorite thing about working at LiquidAccess?
Freedom to create, and the pressure to want to run away --- it’s a love/hate thing.

What’s your average day at LF like?
I haven’t had one yet.

When you’re not at work, what do you spend your time doing?
I’m never at work . . .  and I spend it working.

What LF setup are you most stoked on?
The new one I’m working on at the moment.

What inspires you?
People being genuinely stoked on something you made, and my family.

Anything else to add?
Can I have a vacation?

How long have you been a part of the LF Family?
Since Tony stole me away from Surfing Magazine and I became LF’s first intern/errand boy… it was the summer of 1996. I started working as team manager in 1997 after I graduated… 10 years! Damn… I’m getting old!

Where did you grow up?
In the coolest town in the world! Nevada City, California… it’s in the Gold Country if anyone’s into US Gold mining history.

When did you first get into wakeboarding/wakeskating?
When my parents bought our first boat… the 16’ Seaswirl Tempo. It was back in 1992. Many good days were had slaishing on our directional wakeboard at Rollins Lake and Bullards Bar. Oh the memories…

What is your favorite thing about working at LiquidAccess?
Not having to pay retail! Haha… I think my answer’s going to sound the same as everyone else’s, but it’s the family atmosphere here. Everyone gets along great and works well together. I love working with friends because it just makes the time spent here much more enjoyable. The crew works hard and does all they can to stoke out the customers and to keep making the best product around. Everyone here is super dedicated to our sport and our company… from the top to bottom; we’re all passionate about LF and wake sports… I love that!

What’s your average day at LF like?
Wake up at 9:00… go Wakeskate for a couple of hours. Check some emails… go to lunch… go back to the Lagoon to Wakeboard… make a few calls… go home. Haha… that’s what our team riders probably think we do. In reality, there never is an average day… that’s what keeps this job fresh. I honestly learn something new every day. The average day depends on the season. Some seasons I spend more time working on sales programs with our reps and dealers, and other times I’m working more on product with our design crew, or marketing plans with our marketing team. For the most part, though, a lot of time is spent on the phone, on emails, or in brainstorming meetings… No day is ever alike at LF. We should have our own reality TV show!

When you’re not at work, what do you spend your time doing?
Working…. When you’re in this industry, it’s your life. I love it, though. When I’m not working, I like to do any of the following… Surf, Wake, Ski (snow), skate, dominate the Encinitas YMCA softball league on our LF team, go to Dodgers Games, Eat..., travel, live life.

What LF setup are you most stoked on?
The SST for sure! I’ve been part of Silas’s underground test team and love the board. Besides that, I’d say I’m most stoked on the 2008 lineup that we’ve been testing. I’ve ridden a different setup every time I’ve gone for the last month, or so… it’s been fun.

What inspires you?
Creative people… I’m not super creative by nature, but I’ve been around creative people my entire life. These people have inspired me to never think anything is impossible. Whether it be my parents, our design team, or our riders, I love being around creative people that make me strive to do more.

Anything else to add?
Thanks for the support… oh yeah… Go to BROstock!

How long have you been a part of the LF Family?
I have been a part of the LF family for about 7 years I think, first as a wakeboarder then moved into the desk jockey position.

Where did you grow up?
Coeur d’ Alene, ID… WHAT?

When did you first get into wakeboarding/wakeskating?
1990… That is what happens when you grow up on a lake.
Tony Finn changed my life with conception of the Skurfer

What is your favorite thing about working at LiquidAccess?
I think the fact that it still has that mom and pop feel to it. Everyone here is really to close and gets along really well. It definitely has the family feel to it. And that fact that if I have a dog or kids, there is a nursery and kennel right here in our office, which is nice…

What’s your average day at LF like?
Well, I usually show up about 15 minutes late and I use the side door so Wallace doesn’t see me. Then I space out for about an hour, just stare at my desk so it looks I’m working. I do that for about an hour after lunch as well, I’d say in any given week I usually only do about 15 minutes of actual real work.

When you’re not at work, what do you spend your time doing?
Working… If that makes sense? Being a team manager, my phone is always ringing every day of the week, every hour of the day, but it’s cool, because the team riders are some of my closest friends. I also try and spend time on the golf course, getting to the mountains, surfing, and working on my bronze. I guess if I’m not working, I try to act as if I was retired.

What LF setup are you most stoked on?
Right now I would have to say the SST wakeskate that Silas Thurman designed. Otherwise, I rode the Custom wakesurf board last week, and that thing is freakin’ awesome.

What inspires you?
Planning events, working on ads, and doing stuff for the team that really gets them fired up. I love giving a team rider a call and letting him/her know about the ad we just created or the trip we are sending them on or the BRO Stock event they get to attend, and hearing them in return just being super stoked on it.

Anything else to add?
Get out there and hit the wake like you’ve never hit it before…

How long have you been a part of the LF Family?
Just about a month and I’ve already knocked out my first BROstock!

Where did you grow up?
The Mighty Midwest, Wisconsin

When did you first get into wakeboarding/wakeskating?
I grew up snowboarding, and first hopped on a wakeboard after seeing some guys slashing the wake in front of my house on Lake Keesus. I think I got my first board as a birthday gift at age 16, I’ve been hooked ever since.

What is your favorite thing about working at LiquidAccess?
The crew here is insane, it’s like a big family!

What’s your average day at LF like?
There is never an average day in Marketing/PR, which is why I love it!

When you’re not at work, what do you spend your time doing?
I’m down at the beach surfing, up in the mountains snowboarding, or out on the track racing motocross.

What LF setup are you most stoked on?
The new ’09 product that I’ve just seen has literally blown my mind!

What inspires you?
Passionate innovators that lead the path of progression.

Anything else to add?
We’re not here for a long time, we’re here for a good time!

Northern California

When did you first get into wakeboarding/wakeskating?
Me and my brother used to stand on our kneeboard when we were kids, then my dad got a skurfer. So I have been playing around with it on and off for a while.

What is your favorite thing about working at LiquidAccess?
The family vibe and laid back environment. Also, getting to know cool people from all over the world. The company boat is a nice perk and working a block from the beach ain’t bad either.

What’s your average day at LF like?
Lots of emails, number punching, and skype chats/calls.

When you’re not at work, what do you spend your time doing?
Traveling, surfing, snowboarding, riding my motorcycle, hanging out with friends and family, and I have been known to party once in a while.

What LF setup are you most stoked on?
Lately, I have mostly been riding the Watson 38 with the Watson OT.   I was able to ride the new SST and the Press board and they are both sick!!!!

How long have you been a part of the LF Family?
I have been with the LF Family since 1997 when I signed on under (then) TX regional rep, Chad Stanley.  I continued to ride for LF up until 2005 when I joined the LF art department.  So, I guess I've been around for 10 years or so.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a suburb of Dallas, Texas; Wylie.  Lake Lavon is the home lake, REPRESENT!

When did you first get into wakeboarding/wakeskating?
I tossed my ski in the garbage as soon as I rode the Skurfer back in 1989.  Tibor Horvath with Team Morbid took me in and my wakeboarding evolved with the sport over the years.  I have also been wakeskating for about 10 years.

What is your favorite thing about working at LiquidAccess?
The Crew.  Being able to work with my best friends and have a good time doing it.  The location.  The culture.  It is hard to nail down my favorite thing, it's all good!

What’s your average day at LF like?
Designing for LF is pretty fun.  Each day, Jamison, Ray and I are busy doing everything from research and development, fine arts, graphic design, photography and some product design, etc.  It seems to be an endless cycle of tasks which keeps us on our toes.  You might even catch us checking the surf from time to time...

When you’re not at work, what do you spend your time doing?
I spend a lot of that time with my girlfriend, Sarah and our dog Lola.  We travel, surf, wakeboard at the lagoon and bunch of other fun stuff.  I like to golf and play tennis, cycling, beer pong and bowling for drinking money. Play guitar everyday with my rhythm guru, Luequeda Blevins on bongos.

What LF setup are you most stoked on?
I have been partial to the Watson set-up for a while.  Then again, I just rode the Witness and I'm stoked on it.  I will be riding the Axis a bit this summer though.  Really stoked on the Custom Surfers too!  I can't wait to get mine.

What inspires you?
What doesn't?  Art, music, musicians, genuine people, not-so genuine people, athletes, good books, a good sunset in the surf....

Anything else to add?
Thanks to the LF crew!  You guys and girls are the poop!!!  I would also like to thank some people that have helped along the way and allowed me to get where I am now.  Thanks to my family, Sarah, Merle, Tibor Horvath, Ben Kaufman, couzin' Mike, Bates and Erin and the rest of Team Morbid though the members are few and far between, Thanks to Brian Schriewer for keeping me in business the whole time, Bill and Susie Geiger, Josh Cantor for relocating me to the dream spot, Michael Shane Kreymer for lending me his house, Brian Capen, and Rob for taking me skurfin' so much behind Matt's fishin' boat, Chad Stanley, Kubby, Tina and Cole Avance, Billy Ho Minchew, Jeremy Cline, Micah Creel, Brad Swearingen, Jordan and the Blacks, Kyle and the Claytons, Jeremy Hallford for the belief and the lecture for getting me the heck out of Texas, Jimmy Harvell, Phillip Parkinson, Mark Cascio, Richie Mckee, Brian Sasser, Brad Schnieder @ 454Tattoo, and everyone I didn't list...Thanks.

How long have you been a part of the LF Family?
I have been a member of La Familia de Fuerza Líquida since December 2K5, so for almost a year and a half now...

Where did you grow up?
Grew up in Orange County CA... Born in Littleton, CO near the Columbine massacre... then lived in Wisconsin til I was in 2nd grade, when I moved to Cali... stoked I bounced outta there because I would probably be a different person if I had stayed in the Mid-West. No disrespect to the big WI of course!

When did you first get into wakeboarding/wakeskating?
I have been going to Lake Powell and Mead since I was a yeah-high... so I have always been down with watersports.... don't tell anyone but I'm actually all about water skiing... just kiddin' suckas!

What is your favorite thing about working at LiquidAccess?
There are two main reasons, 1st because I am doing what I love... designing graphic art for a dope company that seems to dig the stuff I create. I never have to dumb my art down for LF, I make something I think looks cool and everyone likes it for the most part... 2nd thing is that I basically get to hang with my friends all day... I have met some amazing people up in here and I am lucky to be involved with such an awesome group of homosapiens.

What’s your average day at LF like?
That is another cool thing... there is never really an average day... I get to design something different everyday... one day it might be a bunch of ads, the next a wakeboard graphic, a catalog, bindings, luggage, vests, apparel screen art, stickers, or pretty much anything else that you can think of such as vehicle wraps, POP, hats, promotional items, etc... so it always feels fresh and fun, I never get burned out on just designing one type of product.

When you’re not at work, what do you spend your time doing?
I go to underground/inde hip-hop shows and random concerts, attend art show openings (free alcohol is sweet), hang with Luequeda Blevins, tag on stuff, eat mexican food, I watch a sh*tload of movies, booze it up at the bars, stay up late and sleep all day...

What LF setup are you most stoked on?
Umm, I don't really know about that... I am more concerned/interested with the graphic aspects of the products... I love the artwork on the Team, Shane, Watson, PS3, pretty much our entire line of boards have elements that I think are sick.

What inspires you?
Seeing artwork and designs from companies, firms, designers and artists that I respect and that are original fresh ideas that push the boundries of what has previously been done before... oh yeah and Checking the waves 3-6 times a day... because I, uh, surf, yeah surf, thats it...

Anything else to add?

Not to bad, I come into work.  Walk around to everyones office, say hello and exchange a hug and a kiss on the cheek.  I sit down at my desk, and solve all the worlds problems.  Then at the end of the day I go for a run or a kiteboard and snuggle into bed.

When you’re not at work, what do you spend your time doing?
Running, Kiteboarding.  Doing art or video.  Hanging with my GF.  Etc.

What LF setup are you most stoked on?
The Havoc Kites and the Recoil 133cm with Union bindings.

What inspires you?
The art department and the team riders and the sales people and the customer service people and the sales and marketing people and the team managers and the product developers and The Finn.

How long have you been a part of the LF Family?
730 days…

Where did you grow up?
Gatineau Beach , Québec, Canada

When did you first get into wakeboarding/wakeskating?
I must say that I have very little time for Wakeboarding. Most of my time is spent kiteboarding and working on future kiteboarding products, testing the kites and some surfing. I have done on a number of occasions wakeboarding and wakeskating and enjoyed it .

What is your favorite thing about working at LiquidAccess?
The great vibe around everything surrounding LiquidAccess, our retailers, distributors, our products, our team….. we all love LiquidAccess and we give our heart and soul into what we do the best, which is make the best water sport products out there.

What’s your average day at LF like?
Hum, it’s never the same….. let’s just say that I feel lucky everyday of living the dream of doing what I love, traveling, kiteboarding and designing the best gear out there.

When you’re not at work, what do you spend your time doing?
I always have LF on my mind, it’s part of me, but spending times with friends, surfing, kiteboarding… anything near the water is a good way to relax.

What LF setup are you most stoked on?
All the gear I’ve been working on for 2008, I can’t tell you about it now… I’ve been riding 2008 gear since August 2006, this shows you how much in advance we design and create our best ideas.

What inspires you?
The freedom of expression that LF gives me, there’s no limit in kiteboarding design and technology, and LF is the best to understand this.

Anything else to add?
Wakeboarding is great, being locked into a 30 degree angle behind a boat is cool too…. But Guys, you have to try kiteboarding, the freedom to ride the way you want, when you want and where ever you want. For me, Kiteboarding is the future.
